International Accreditation Overview

International Accreditation Overview

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

  1. What is Accreditation?

A self-assessment and external peer review process used by health and social care organisations to accurately assess their level of performance in relation to established standards and to implement ways to continuously improve the the quality of health or social care system.

ISQua’s definition of Accreditation

ANMCS accreditation activity needs to be at the same level as all international accreditation standards and, in this respect, since 2017 has participated to theISQua- International Accreditation Programmes, being ISQua member since 2015.

The International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) is a not-for-profit, independent, health care quality organisation with members and contacts in over 100 countries. ISQua works to provide services to guide health professionals, providers, researchers, agencies, policy makers and consumers to achieve excellence in healthcare delivery to all people and to continuously improve the quality and safety of care. https://www.isqua.org/

The International Accreditation Programme (IAP) of ISQua (IAP)  delivers a unique global accreditation service to health and social care external evaluation organisations and standards developing bodies.

Since 1999, the IAP has provided the external evaluation organisations with an independent third-party assessment process to validate existing systems and drive continuous quality improvement.

ISQua transfered  the IAP activity  to IEEA -The International Society for Quality in Health Care External Evaluation Association (IEEA) since 2019, which was established, as a separate legal entity, by the International Society for Quality in Health Care to deliver external evaluation services. https://www.ieea.ch/

Operating in over 60 countries, the IAP offers three separate peer review assessment options:

  • Accreditation of Health and Social Care Standards
  • Accreditation of External Evaluation Organisations
  • Accreditation of Surveyor Training Programmes

Those who are working in Accreditation know how important is to have strong reputation and brand recognition  as external evaluation organisation

The ISQua-IEEA international  accreditation is a valuable asset for any organisation seeking to aspire to global recognition in accreditation

Actually, ANMCS participates in two ISQua international accreditation programs:

  • Accreditation of Health and Social Care Standards
  • Accreditation of External Evaluation Organisations

as follows,

  • within the first ISQua -IEEA programme, the ANMCS Standards for Hospitals Accreditation have received the international accreditation award for four years, since March 2018,
  • within the second ISQua -IEEA programme, since October 2019, ANMCS institution has been in the external evaluation stage.

ISQua- IEEA Awards :

Accreditation is granted for four years.

Accredited organisations receive the final survey report, an ISQua Accreditation Certificate and the use of an ‘IEEA Accredited’ logo.

All IAP awards are acknowledged annually at ISQua’s International Conference.
