– What means accreditation?
Action to guarantee or recognize, by an external evaluation body, the degree of compliance with accreditation standards, resulting from a technical, external and independent evaluation, which establishes the level of performance of an organization (health unit) in relation to those standards
– What is a surveyor?
The health services surveyor is a person specialized in the field of health services quality management, who has obtained, in accordance with the law, the certificate of graduation of the training and improvement program for health services surveyors or hospital surveyors, as the case may be.
– What means that I am treated in an accreditated health establishment?
A medical unit that has been accredited means that it has gone through the process of validating the conformity of the characteristics of the performed health services with the accreditation standards adopted by ANMCS. Following this process, the health units are classified into accreditation categories in order to give confidence in their technical-professional and organizational competence.
– Which are the accreditation categories for hospitals?
- – Category I Accredited
- – Category II Accredited with recommendations
- – Category III Accredited with reservations
- – Category IV Accredited with reduced confidence
- – Category V Decision to extend the accreditation process
- – Category VI – Not accreditated
– Where can I found information if a medical unit is accreditated or not?
Any health unit is accredited by Order of the President of ANMCS which is published in the Official Gazette. Also, the list of all accredited health units can be found on the anmcs.gov.ro website at the link: https://anmcs.gov.ro/web/spitale-evaluate-in-al-ii-lea-ciclu-de-acreditare/
– What is the meaning of “in the process of accreditation?
The symbol “Unit in the process of ACCREDITATION” shall be displayed by:
- – all the Health Units evaluated in the cycle II of accreditation to which the order of the President of ANMCS of assignment to the accreditation category V has been issued and communicated,
- – all the Health units evaluated in the accreditation cycle II and awaiting the accreditation report.
- – all Health units in preparation of the evaluation visit for accreditation in cycle II of accreditation.
- – all Health units accredited in cycle I of accreditation in the process of monitoring which meet the requirements of article 1(2) of the order of President of ANMCS no 322/2019 regarding the display by health care units of information on accreditation, as well as for the approval of the model of the accreditation certificate of bed-based health establishments in the second cycle of accreditation.
