National Authority of Quality Management in Health – ANMCS is a public institution from public central administration with legal personality, specialized in the field of health quality management, which functions under the authority of Government.
The main activity of ANMCS is the evaluation and the accreditation of sanitary units.
Healthcare units are defined, according to Government Decision 629/2015 regarding the composition, attributions, the organization and functioning of the National Authority of the Quality Management in Health, the entities with or without legal personality, whose object of activity is the provision of medical assistance, to any Level: primary care / family medicine, ambulatory medical care, hospital care regardless of the form of ownership. Accreditation is granted for a period of 5 years, after which the unit must be re-accredited.
The aim of the ANMCS is to ensure and improve the quality of health services and patient safety by standardizing and evaluating health services and accrediting sanitary facilities.
ANMCS is funded from its own revenues and subsidies from the state budget through the budget of the General Secretary of the Government.
