How well does Romania provide care for people with chronic conditions?<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the report\u2019s findings, individuals with chronic diseases in Romania experience better care coordination compared to the OECD PaRIS average.<\/p>\n Key Findings \u2013 Romania in the PaRIS Survey<\/strong><\/p>\n Romania’s Participation in the PaRIS Project<\/strong><\/p>\n Romania joined this project alongside 19 other countries<\/strong>, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, the United States, and Wales (United Kingdom).<\/p>\n Globally, 107,011 primary care users (aged 45 and over)<\/strong> and 1,816 primary care offices<\/strong> participated in the project. All results were standardized by age and gender to adjust for demographic differences between countries.<\/p>\n The PaRIS – Patient-Reported Indicators Survey<\/strong> is a global and innovative initiative<\/strong> aimed at identifying the healthcare needs of individuals living with chronic diseases.<\/p>\n Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n The PaRIS survey highlights the need for better-coordinated and person-centered care<\/strong>, especially for the 80% of primary care users aged 45 and over<\/strong> living with at least one chronic condition and the 50% of patients<\/strong> living with two or more chronic diseases.<\/p>\n The implementation of this project in Romania has been highly valuable<\/strong>, both institutionally and from the patient’s perspective. The results of this project can guide patient-centered public policies<\/strong> that address patients’ needs and contribute to improving the quality of primary healthcare services.<\/p>\n Romania’s participation in this project has brought significant benefits<\/strong> in terms of knowledge transfer, information exchange, and experience sharing. The country’s successful completion of the project<\/strong> demonstrates its institutional capacity<\/strong> and ability to collaborate with OECD member states\u2014an important step in Romania\u2019s OECD accession process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n
