World Patient Safety Day 2024 was marked this year on September 17, through an event organized by the National Authority for Quality Management in Health, in partnership with the Academy of Medical Sciences, the National Patient Safety Council, the Romanian College of Doctors and Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest.<\/p>\n
The event hosted by Col\u021bea Clinical Hospital, the oldest hospital in Bucharest, had as its theme “Improving diagnosis for patient safety”.<\/p>\n
Conference participants discussed the need for accurate and timely diagnosis, which means a chance for a better life. Delayed, incorrect or missed diagnoses or failure to communicate diagnoses to patients can cause harm, slowing or preventing access to appropriate care.<\/p>\n
Whether we are talking about professionals from the health system, authorities, patients, must ensure that each diagnosis is correct and timely, in order to avoid complications.<\/p>\n
The event was attended by representatives of health authorities and patient associations. The event was organized in a hybrid format, with more than 600 participants from health facilities all over the country connected online.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
